In The Footsteps of Thomas Hardy
After Dr Tony Fincham’s Exploring Hardy’s Wessex talk in Salisbury Library, Pat Withers and Brenda Parry, members of the Thomas Hardy Society, will lead a literary walk around Hardy’s Salisbury, seeing sights that inspired the fictional Melchester including the Cathedral and the Close, which brought poetry and provided settings for Jude the Obscure, as well as the nearby St Thomas’s church. Gain an insight into Ethelberta’s complex love life, and maybe you might even catch a glimpse of Tess fleeing towards Stonehenge…
The meeting point for the start of the walk is outside Salisbury Library.
